Domaine Hudelot-Baillet is located in Chambolle-Musigny, a small village in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, near the famous Clos Vougeot, halfway between Gevrey-Chambertin and Nuits-Saint-Georges.

Today, the estate boasts 9.37 hectares of vines, including 8.37 hectares of reds. We have to go back several generations to find the first winegrowers bearing the Hudelot name in the commune of Chambolle..

1981

Family heritage

In 1981, with the support of his wife, Chantal Baillet, Joël Hudelot created the winery, proudly inheriting the vines from his father, Paul Hudelot. Together, they marked the beginning of an exciting winegrowing adventure.

1998

Dominique's arrival

In 1998, a promising chapter opened at the domaine with the arrival of Dominique Le Guen, Joël's son-in-law. His growing passion led him to take over the reins of vinification in 2002, infusing his vision of Burgundy wines.

2004

Fresh impetus

In 2004, Dominique took over the reins of the estate with a passion that marked the beginning of a new era for the family business. Production evolved towards a resolutely qualitative approach, leaving behind the practices of the wine trade to dedicate itself exclusively to exceptional 100% bottled wines. This change of dynamic is also characterized by the arrival of new bottle labels, a symbol of the estate's handover.

2011

Development

Over the years, the estate has embraced a hands-off approach, allowing nature to express itself fully in its wines. Under Dominique's enlightened vision, an exciting metamorphosis is taking shape, with major investments in state-of-the-art technical equipment. His tireless quest to improve the quality of his wines and perfect his working methods testifies to a deep commitment to excellence and authenticity.

2019

The new generation

In 2019, a new page in the family history is written with the arrival of Tanguy, Dominique's son, marking the 7th generation of winemakers. Having surveyed every plot and explored every nook and cranny of the winery throughout his childhood, he now fully assumes his role as a player in this winegrowing heritage. Father and son share a common vision, forming a harmonious alliance that makes the transmission of know-how fluid and natural. Celebrating the advent of a new generation, the wine labels have evolved, symbolizing once again the impetus of a passionate lineage, dedicated to perpetuating the magic of Burgundy wines.

A quest for constant quality

The estate is committed to an environmental approach, investing in equipment adapted to enhance the quality of its wines, and is HVE1 certified. Father and son, driven by a quest for excellence, continually seek to perfect their products and their working techniques.

Their constant search for improvement extends from the vines to the breeding process. With a deep respect for the terroir, they create wines that reflect their passion and their personality, while celebrating the richness of the terroirs of their region.
